Happy Thanksgiving!

Happy Thanksgiving! I hope you all have a great time thanking the Lord for all His blessings.

Psalm 100
Make a joyful noise to the Lord, all the earth!

    Serve the Lord with gladness!
Come into his presence with singing!

Know that the Lord, he is God!

It is he who made us, and we are his;[a]
we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture.

Enter his gates with thanksgiving,

    and his courts with praise!
Give thanks to him; bless his name!
For the Lord is good;

    his steadfast love endures forever,
and his faithfulness to all generations.

  1. Happy Thanksgiving to you too. :) It's rather early for US folks, but any time is perfect to be thankful. :)

P.S. I was wondering the other day how the Canadian Thanksgiving came to be. Was it created in memory of some certain time? Or what? I hope you can help me out. :)

  2. Hi Rebekah!
I believe the first Thanksgiving that was celebrated in Canada took place when Martin Frobisher, an English explorer, arrived in Newfoundland in 1578. He wanted to give thanks for his safe arrival.
This might sound strange since I live in Canada, but I actually didn't know the history of the first Canadian Thanksgiving until you asked the question. Then I realized that, though I knew all about the American Thanksgiving, I didn't know anything about the Canadian one! Crazy isn't it?

Hi! Thanks for stopping by! :)
I LOVE comments, so please do leave one! I will try and reply as soon as possible :D If you comment under Anonymous, please leave a name (it can be made up or real, your choice ;)
Oh, and as you all probably know, my family and I are under pseudonyms (you didn’t really think I had a brother named Spiderman or Ironman, did ya? We’re weird, but not 'that' weird! :P) If you do know our real names, please don’t say it in the comment box. Public safety stuff ;) Thanks!

Finally, brothers (and sisters!), whatever is true, whatever is honourable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things
