Emails and a certain Mr. BX

When someone makes fun of what you put in the caption box above the contact form. *sighs* #thoselittlesisters :P

Okay. So. How shall I say this? Let's start from the beginning.

One day, Dad told me that a man was coming over to our house in a couple of weeks. And he was going to live with us for as long as we stayed at our current house (wait - what?!?)

After I found that out, I may or may not have freaked. Just maybe.

I then may or may not have asked Dad a TON of questions and found out that:

This man liked to go by the name BX
He came from the States
He was in the wood-working department
He was going to help Dad and the boys with the tree cutting and wood hauling
He wasn't a Christian (that's already kind of a big no for me)
Dad met him on THE INTERNET (I asked if he was my dad at that point, 'cause, well, that's just a thing that Dad NEVER does)
Dad had never actually seen this person or talked to him
This Mr. BX guy was going to live in a tent in our backyard (Tiger Lily and I were like "Uhh...what part of the States is he coming from? Does he know that Canada has -40 degree winters? And it's like impossible to live in a tent in the middle of winter. Or any part of winter, really.)

Kind of scary and weird and really far-fetched.

If any of you know me well, you would know that I'm really, really, really curious. And I will try my utter best to reach the bottom of any important mystery ;)

After we got home, I asked Dad if I could see a picture of this guy, but Dad refused. That got me super curious.

Sooooo..... yeah, I wasn't going to just sit there and wait to see who this mysterioso man was. I mean, if there's a man that could very soon be living in your backyard in a tent, but still having meals with you, and pretty much going to be in your life for who knows how long, you're going to want to find out more about him first, right?

Anyway, I got my computer and started going through all the things that Dad had told me about Mr. BX.

It was his name that I searched first. How many people do you know that go by the name BX? It was a strange name, and I was fairly certain that it would lead me to what I was looking for.

I typed what does bx stand for into Google. It lead me to Bronx, NY.

Then I typed in bx carpentry united states since Dad had said he was in the wood-working department. No such thing existed.

But then you know how while you're typing into Google, there's this box under the search bar and it kind of tries to guess what you're searching for? I decided to type bx in different sentences and questions into the search bar until I found something that looked like it might be relevant.

And bingo! Found it! BX outdoor machinery, right there at the very bottom of the box.

While I was mulling over that, it hit me that Dad had recently been looking at ATV's and wood chippers. After that, it was fairly easy.

A Kubota BX Wood chipper.

*sigh* Dad ...
But I am so very relieved that it's not a man. Because that would be a little weird ;)

I told Dad that I had figured it out. At first, he pretended that he had no idea what I was talking about. In the end, he admitted that he was kind of impressed that I had uncovered his mystery. Then he showed me what he was actually getting. Turns out, it wasn't a wood chipper. BUT it was still a Kubota BX something. I think it's some kind of tractor. And it will help Dad and the boys with the wood :P

Apparently, he had also told the boys and Snow White about it, and they were all like YAY!!! There's a man coming to live with us! *shakes head in exasperation*
They still think that a certain man named Mr. Kubota is coming to live with us in a couple of weeks.

But there. Mystery solved.
I think I might be a detective someday XD

What funny things do your siblings do to you?

What would you do if you were told that a
strange man was coming to live with you? (and sure,
why not, let's add in the the tent in the backyard too ;)

Would you sit and wait for the man to come
or would you try to find out who he was?

New Blog Look

How do you all like the new blog look? I decided to go for a single picture header - but just the same it took about an an hour and a half plus 15 different jpg files to get this centred ;)

For some reason, whenever I change the header and background, I always forget how to do it. And then I have to relearn it all over again. Does this happen to you? Say I'm not the only one who does that :P

While the blog was under construction, Tiger Lily saw me doing it and said "I'm going to go over right now and see what a mess your blog is right now!"

Wasn't that nice of her? XD

Argh, getting those widths right can be difficult at times ;)

Little Brother Talks // The Crayon Song

Me: What are we going to do for lunch? What am I going to make for dinner?

Toblerone comes and sits on my lap

Me: Toblerone, what do you want for dinner?

Long stare from him

Toblerone: Food

Dare Devil: I can't eat!

Me: Why not?

Dare Devil: 'Cause I'm too hungry!

Me: Oookkkaaayyyy .......

To end on a rather random note; I was working on something all day today. I'll be posting laster on about it, but does anyone want to guess what made this imprint? Here's a hint: The white stuff is wax paper.

Another One of Those Random Posts

Some more little scenes from life in this crazy household :D

A couple of days ago, Dad saw Toblerone with his mouth puffed out as if he was eating something. Thinking that Toblerone was eating something he wasn't supposed to, Dad told him to spit it out. Toblerone just stared at him as if trying to say You do not want me to do this. But it didn't communicate very well with Dad, I guess, because he told Toblerone to spit it out again. So Toby obeyed. And sprayed out a mouthful of water into Dad's hand. And Dad had just finished getting ready to go to work.

So....last Sunday, we were discussing the sermon during lunch. Talking about money, the proper use of money, why we have money, and how money can become bad if you idolize it, etc. Everyone was adding in what they thought to the conversation and then Dare Devil, who had previously been very quiet, piped in "Oh, I know what dirty money is! It's when the money has dirt and mud on it, right?"

Oh yeah!  I can't forget about this! Dad got a GatorXUV550 for the younger ones, and they've been going nuts with it! In a good way :)

Tiger Lily says to mention that it is plastic. . .

But it still moves, and boy is it fun to watch. I think it's more fun to ride, but us two older girls can't cause we're just so slightly too big for it.

I was actually quite surprised though at how well Dare Devil and Snow White could drive. So far, I haven't seen them crash into anything, and Snow White can do a pretty good 3 point turn. I'm still trying to learn that, and it's not easy for me at all. But she makes it look like she's done it a million times already.

Dare Devil is also a very good driver. The only problem is that when I was taking pictures of him while he was in motion, he kept looking at me and smiling so that I could take a nice picture. So yeah, then he wasn't looking where he was going and it was getting a little scary watching him weave in and out and around and about. The fact that there's a four year old driving a two year around in a Gator (mini though it be) is scary enough for me!

I've been extracting DNA from bananas, jellies, and even Ritz crackers. Okay, so the crackers didn't do anything but become really mushy and soft and yucky looking, but the banana gave a lot of DNA, and the jam was so-so. It made really nice pictures too! :)

Last Saturday, Tiger Lily and I helped out at the PCC banquet with lots of friends from our youth group at church. It was lots of fun serving to others with one another! :)

Tiger Lily, two of our best friends, and I were assigned on coat check. That meant we had to take all 643 guests' coats, hang them up, and MOST importantly. . . don't lose them!!! Then after the banquet was over, we had to give the coats back. Duh :P

Anyway, the system for keeping all the coats was confusing at first, but with some tweaking, we all managed to come up with something that would work. And guess what? It did! :)

Some people preferred to keep their coats on, or bring it in with them to the banquet hall, but I'd say we ended up taking around 550+ coats.
Up with all. those. coats! :)

At first, it was very stressful running around, trying not to lose both tickets and coats, but thankfully it came together and we all managed to work in a nice, somewhat orderly fashion :) Thanks also to some other friends who came to help us :D
There was a closet on the right of this picture, as well as another rack and closet
on the other side of the hall.

I wonder what we're looking at?

Oh, and I just had to add this picture of the chandelier. When we first got into the
hall, we were all like "whoaaa....this place is amazing!!" It was so beautiful
and breathtaking. There was this massive sparkling chandelier in the
very middle of the hall, with two smaller ones on either side. This picture is not
exactly how I wanted to show it, but I didn't have time to circle it and snap thousands of pictures of it
like I usually do. Coat check, remember? ;)

Hard at work. . . I think. Or else we're playing Hangman ;)

Me and our two fellow coat check-ers :) Thanks to Tiger Lily for taking the photo! :)

Ahhh yes! And the stairs!! On either side of the hall were these absolutely magnificent stairways. They were so pretty!
So once there was a break in the crowd and no one seemed to be wanting their coats, I got Tiger Lily and these two pretty fellow coat check-ers to run up the stairs and let me take a picture. :)

Tiger Lily was (actually, she is right this instant while I'm typing :P) looking for a song to do for a Studio Assignment, (that's for the vocal course that she is taking that I may or may not have forced her to take. . . ) and she thought of doing the Dragon Theme song. Where No One Goes. Have you heard it before? It's a really fun and nice song. Anyway, she was looking up the lyrics and she realized that the chorus actually goes:
We go where no one goes
We slow for no one
Get out of our way!
Once she read that, she was like "WHAATT??? That's so rude!" Then she showed it to me and I heard it and I was wondering how did we not hear that before? It's so weird! But yeah. . . she won't be singing that for her Studio assignment! :)

Tinker Bell!

Here's a sneak peak into a photo shoot that Tiger Lily, Snow White, and I did together. As you can tell, lots of Gimping going on! :)

Excuse the bare feet...we forgot to put the shoes on, and painting them on GIMP makes it look very clumpy :P

Photo Shoot // Tiger Lily

Finally, at long last, is the post of the photo shoot that I had with Tiger Lily one or two weeks ago. It was a very cloudy day, so some photos didn't come out as nicely as I'd have liked, but there were some pretty good pictures here too, I think! :) Of course, Tiger Lily made it very...interesting and funny! Really, it's impossible to have a completely serious photo shoot with her.

But I'll stop talking now and let you see the pictures. We both hope you like them! :)

Tree Hugger. Literally :P

Attempts With The Swing
Mmm....taken at the wrong moment, I guess.

Uh huh. Very interesting face, dontcha think?

Argh, she's supposed to be in the middle of the picture. Too soon.

This one make me kinda dizzy. And it looks like the tree's the focus instead of Tiger Lily, doesn't it?

That looks better! :)

Tiger Lily thinks that the slight purple on the edge of her eyelid is because she's tired. She's not wearing make-up, in case you're wondering ;) However, her lips just might be stained redder than normal due to the peppermint stick she's sucking.

By this time, I was very surprised that she hadn't made any funny faces and had been quite...serene :) But of course, that didn't last very long!

See that tank on the left side of her? That's the propane tank. :P
We couldn't find another part of the house that wasn't smothered in mosquitoes and had bricks,
so here's where we're taking the pictures. Thankfully, it doesn't smell.
